Sony Slides Yet Another Notch
So it now appears that Sony is so frustrated with the success Nintendo's Wii is experiencing in the face of the less than anticipated sales of the PS3, that they have begun trash talking Nintendo.
Sony claims that the Wii is an impulse buy, and that the PS3 is so almighty that it shouldn't be compared to the Wii at all. Sounds pretty cocky from a company who's console is getting dusty on store shelves. Perhaps they are feeling the sting of charging $600 for a console.
In the meantime, the Xbox 360 has stolen the crown from Sony in the Next Gen console market, and the Wii has moved up a rank as well. Sony better start moving some consoles... I'm sorry, some "Computer Entertainment Centers" as they are calling the PS3.

You know what pisses me off?
I want to give Sony my money for a PS3. I really do. Sony's arrogance aside the console itself is very cool and will surely have some great games for it.
But... Between this arrogance they keep displaying and their price point I would almost feel bad giving in, because these bastards really need to learn their lesson. I want them to come clean and admit "Yeah, we were assholes, and we're sorry." I recognize that anything beyond maybe a $50 price drop is unlikely given how much the console costs to make, but even that would be a symbolic improvement.
Sony: I want to give you my money, I really do. I'm hardly the only one. Shape the hell up and you might just get it.
*sigh*

I've been trying to figure out what the big deal about the PS3 is. I hear the picture is better and it has "blu-ray" technology. But seriously - doesn't that all equate to "slightly better picture than your last console"? For $600 I expect something more revolutionary or at least very different from the last console....
In my opinion - so what if the graphics are great it is still the same game, the same experience, if they weren't so great.
Then again - I am not a "gamer". So perhaps I underestimate the importance of pixels.

Indeed. I bought my HDTV for the sole purpose of the PS3 and incredible graphics. Not all is lost though, I've discovered that DVD's are amazing and can't wait to get myself an HD DVD player!
