I really, really, really liked this movie. Even though I thought the previews looked good, I wasn't in the mood to see a movie tonight. Nevertheless I had to go for a team outting event at work. I'm so happy I went. There were long lines and the theater was packed which made me glad that we decided to buy all the tickets in advance.
The way the story was told was rather riveting. There was a good balance of story, gore, and cinematography so that no one thing overpowered the movie. I have a feeling this was a much longer movie than eventually made it to theaters. I've already signed up on Amazon to be notified when the DVD gets released for this reason.
The acting was well done for the most part. The lines were blurred slightly between reality and fiction, but never frayed so far out as to distract.
This is definitely a movie you want to see in the theater. The I can't imagine the imagery being the same on a home theater, although Sony does make some pretty LCDs these days, and Blu-Ray could certainly shine this movie up, it's still not the same unless the Spartans are all 12 feet tall LOL. I would still recommend you FANDANGO your tickets. Especially if you live in a bigger city. Our tiny little theater was flooded with people, and when I called to check which theater it was at the 411 lady from my cell phone provider said that the whole country was calling in for showtimes for 300.
It is certainly worth the going rate of a movie ticket wherever you are.

I have a feeling I shall never get to see it lol. It will be like that time we tried to go see the second Pirates of the Carribean. I haven't seen that one yet, all because the theater's were crazy, and then everyone else had already seen it, and I'm a bad lone movie watcher because I don't pay attention when I'm by myself as well lol.
I'm glad you had fun though. Work was boring :P
Also, Your coffee was my salvation!!

We thought about going and see it, but I was convinced it would be Sin City all over again. Which while cool from an artistic point of view, wasn't worth the money I spent seeing it.
Instead I am holding out for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...you cannot possibly go wrong with Ninja Turtles. It's impossible.
