A lot of stuff in a short period of time...
... would pretty much sum up my days lately. First off, my sister got married. She looked AMAZING. We didn't have a lot of money to put toward the wedding, in fact her and her husband were unemployed until recently, but we made do and it was a great wedding and a load of fun. I still can't get over how beautiful she looked in her dress with her makeup all done up. She could have been a model for one of those bridal magazines.
My sister is a pretty amazing person. She's made a few mistakes but in the end she's been a great kid. I'm happy to see her happy because I know she's been waiting for this for a long time and just about everything that could possibly happen to offset it has. She deserved this moment though. She deserved to feel as beautiful as she looked and to finally have a relationship that's been years and a baby in the making become something more offical.
I wish her and her husband the best of luck. Even though they may make a few foolish decisions, they'll learn, Life has a funny way of turning a pitfall into a ladder.
As for me... I have a boyfriend. It's odd having a boyfriend again after two and a half years. I had forgotten what it's like to think of others. I'd grown quite accustomed to the single life and I was pretty happy in it, but I feel a bit more hopeful with a significant other. It's odd having somebody care what happens to me, or finding me attractive. I'm not exactly the prettiest crayon in the box. For whatever foolish reason, he thinks I'm cute though. Let's just pray he doesn't get his eyes checked anyime soon.
We are both kinda tech nerds so he actually understands my techie ramblings. It's wierd because I'm used to rephrasing everything in tech to english terms and he doesn't need that.
We met at work. I hadn't really noticed until I walked into the breakroom the other day, but our place of work has grown to epic proportions. I don't recognize half the faces. That's a pretty big change from this time two years ago when I helped get the place started and knew just about everybody on a first name basis.
Oh yeah... back to the BF. So, his name is Andrew. He's very cute, and like I mentioned above he's a tech nerd like myself. I'm still learning quite a bit about him, but I know he's just a bit older than me. Just enough to tease him over. We are both rather laid back so I'm happy that he's not going to be dragging me around to clubs all the time. He has a great sense of humor, and he probably holds the record for the highest number of text messages sent in a single day ever LOL.
We were official one week ago tomorrow. I had been eyeing him for a while but because of a couple rules at work I couldn't actually ask him out. So, I had long since forgotten about the thought, when he asked a mutual friend to ask me out. It was a bit like being in High School, but it ended well. I'm excited for this new relationship. In my last relationship I always felt like I had to prove myself because my boyfriend was leaps and bounds smarter than I am and loved to show it off. I can tell Andrew is proabably much smarter than myself, but he doesn't harass me over it which is nice!
At any rate, I better get going, I have a few episodes of Bones and CSI that I need to catch up on. Lata!
